Radar Fills the Compass Gap

Third-person camera in Arc Raiders limits peripheral awareness. You miss flanks while looting or fighting ARC drones head-on. A 2D radar overlay acts like a minimap for nearby threats — players and machines as blips relative to your position.

Size and Position

Keep radar small and tucked near your HUD comfort zone. Large radar blocks center-screen vision during CQC. Corner placement with 120–180 meter range works for most Rust Belt rotations. Increase range for open outdoor pushes where engagements start farther out.

Filtering Blips

Separate colors for players vs ARC units. During PvP extracts, mute machine blips if Hornet swarms clutter the read. During PvE farms, mute player blips until you enter POI tiers where raiders concentrate.

Radar Plus ESP Workflow

Radar tells you direction; ESP tells you elevation and cover. Someone above you shows north on radar but box ESP reveals rooftop position. Use both — radar alone fails on vertical Buried City layouts.

Extract Planning

When extract timer starts, radar sweeps for closing blips. Hold if multiple contacts converge. Sprint only when arc is clear or you accept the third-party risk.
